MinuteSmith SMS Consent & Opt-In

Business: MinuteSmith (operated by MinuteSmith LLC) · Last updated: June 18, 2026

SMS Consent Example

This is the exact opt-in control shown on the MinuteSmith signup form and in account settings. The checkbox is unchecked by default.

Consent is optional and is not required to create an account or use MinuteSmith.

You can create and use a MinuteSmith account without entering a phone number. SMS is sent only if you enter a number and check the box above.

Overview

MinuteSmith (operated by MinuteSmith LLC) sends Application-to-Person (A2P) SMS messages only to users who have explicitly opted in via the form shown above. This page documents how consent is collected, the precise consent language, the disclosures we provide, and representative sample messages.

How You Opt In

Users provide express opt-in consent through MinuteSmith web forms in three places:

  • During account registration — the signup form includes an optional, unchecked-by-default SMS consent checkbox next to the mobile phone field (shown above).
  • In account settings — the dashboard Notifications panel lets account owners add a phone number and turn SMS on or off at any time.
  • In notification preferences— board members opt in (or out) for their own recipient profile; a board owner adding someone's phone number does notgrant SMS consent on that person's behalf.

In every case consent requires an affirmative action (checking the box) and a phone number. The checkbox is never pre-checked and is never bundled with account creation or payment.

Required Disclosures

  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Reply HELP for assistance.

Replying STOP takes effect immediately and you will receive no further messages. Replying HELP returns contact and help information. You can also manage SMS at any time from your account settings. You must be 18 years of age or older to use this SMS service.

Message Categories

MinuteSmith SMS is used strictly for transactional, account-related governance notifications — never for marketing or promotional content. The only messages we send today are:

  • Meeting reminders — ahead of a scheduled board meeting
  • Minutes approval requests — when minutes need your review or are awaiting approval
  • Action item notifications — for action items assigned to you, including overdue reminders
  • Governance updates — the umbrella for the transactional board-governance notices above (no marketing)
